Wisdom

An intelligent character may know how to mimic the mating call of a female moose. A wise character might know why this is a bad idea. Wisdom represents one's ability to make sound judgements and maintain focus without getting distracted. Wise characters tend to be very perceptive and difficult to deceive.

Wisdom is an important attribute for spell-casting. It determines an individual's ability to focus on completing a spell while under attack. It combines with intelligence to determine the available mana for casting spells.

Wisdom is also an important contributor to combat. Wise characters are difficult to confuse and find it easier to 'read' their opponent. Wise characters can also see through illusions and are more resistant to being mesmerized or transfixed by spell effects.

Wise characters find it easier to track, detect hidden objects and people, and flush game. Wise characters stand a better chance of spotting traps. Wisdom is useful in locating wild plants and herbs and in distilling antidotes and medicines. Wise characters are also better at judging things at a glance -- how deadly a fall might be, how heavy an object is, or their odds of successfully making a jump.
