Prompt

Also known as: cooldown, cooldowns, gcd, mcd

Your prompt is an informational line that prints between every carriage return to inform you of major highlights about your character's current position. It looks like this:

[walking, 100hp, 100mv, oo, CONSENT]
Field Shows
walking Your current position: walking, sitting, resting, sneaking, swimming, climbing, falling and so on
100hp Current health, as a number
100mv Current stamina, as a number
first o Action cooldown. Blue when you're ready to act, dark while you're recovering.
second o Movement cooldown. Green when you can move, dark while you can't.
CONSENT Only visible if you have toggled consent on, alerts you if it's safe to engage in roleplay with adult themes.

Action cooldown governs actions that need to have an action economy so they cannot be spammed: initiating combat, fleeing from combat, drinking a potion, breaking an item, and so forth. These things would allow you to instantly accomplish a task designed to be accomplished over time if you could stack them, so have to be metered. If you attempt to act while on cooldown, you'll see a message instructing you to wait, and you'll be informed that you're ready to act when it cools off.

Similarly, movement cooldown triggers on movement, and on gathering; this prevents you from moving rapidly across the map and harvesting every single room as far as possible by stacking a massive list of commands. You move, search around for what you're looking for, then move again. If you attempt to move while this is on cooldown, you will be told to wait.

The reason we have two cooldowns is to facilitate dynamic 'moving' fights where one person is pursuing another, and is detailed more in the helpfile for flee.
