Disguise
Also known as: costume, disguised, disguises, reveal, study
Disguise is a stealth skill that governs your ability to pretend to be an object or person that you are not. The initial step of disguise is to study <item / person>. You cannot study something that is too drastically a different weight than you; a man cannot disguise himself as a pebble or a mountain. Once you have studied your intended disguise, you may then later at any point type DISGUISE to assume your disguise. Your sdesc and ldesc will be replaced with that of your chosen disguise. You may abandon your disguise with REVEAL.
Like hiding, disguise is opposed by search. Anyone with sufficient search will see your true short description appended with (disguised), so they know you are trying to fool them. Like hide, there is a thirty second window before they roll again, but unlike hide, once they have seen through your disguise, that character will not be fooled by you again until you reveal and disguise as something else. This skill allows you to impersonate items and other characters, though obviously at great risk.
Special note: Disguise does NOT invalidate consent rules. If you disguise yourself as someone who has consent access that you do not, you are not permitted to perform any roleplay involving consent. This is a serious matter and will result in a permanent ban. If you find that someone else mistakes you for someone they are consenting with and attempts to engage, CONSENT PANIC immediately. You will be the one banned if you do not follow this protocol. This is the responsibility of using this skill. Misuse of this skill will see it restricted to inanimate objects only for everyone.
Disguise is governed by wisdom (primary) and intelligence (secondary).
