Carrying Capacity
Also known as: capacity, carry limit, encumbrance
Your carrying capacity is a function of your character's strength, and scales non-linearly with strength gains:
Strength Capacity 25 19 kg 40 38 kg 54 (median) 60 kg 70 89 kg 90 129 kg 110 174 kg
Everything that you are carrying in your inventory, wearing, or wielding counts towards your carrying capacity. Things carried in containers also count, though if you were to wear a container -- for example, a backpack -- you get a discount on the weight of the items in the pack. This discount scales with the quality of the worn container.
Capacity is a hard ceiling and you cannot take any more items when you reach it, nor be given anything by someone else. You do not get penalties to skills, or stamina for being near capacity. Containers, NPCs, and vehicles also have their own carrying capacity; containers cannot be overfilled, and vehicles will be unable to move, or in dire situations sink, if overloaded.
