How to Connect

Beginning your journey takes a few simple steps.

1. Create an account

Provide a valid email address, and then follow the verification link when it arrives.

During the pre-alpha stage (currently ongoing), an admin must manually approve your account before you can log into the game itself.

2. Create your character

Log into your new account and navigate the menu in the top right — there is a character generator present there. You will choose your race, roll attributes, and pick the skills you want to begin play with.

You will also have the opportunity to sign up for a brief, in-character 'flashback' tutorial memory, which will get players new to MUDs or Rhizome specifically up to speed on the basics.

3. Enter the world

Click Play Now in the top right corner of the screen to play in the browser client, which is the fastest way to get in game. If you'd rather use a dedicated standalone MUD client such as Mudlet, TinTin++, or blowtorch, configure them for:

Regardless as to if you elected for the tutorial, you will be provided some starting resources and the means to purchase basic equipment before being transported to Hyphae, where your character will begin play in the shared world. Everything from that point on is up to you; welcome to the jungle!
