Containers
Also known as: bag, bags, close, container, crate, open, pouch, satchel
Containers hold things, allowing you to place things into them and take them out. Broadly speaking, containers can be divided into two different categories: those that hold discrete items, like packs and crates, and those that hold liquid, like wineskins and barrels. Both liquid and discrete containers have their own internal carrying capacity, gated on the mass of the contents that fills them.
Command What it does put <item> in <container> Store something get <item> from <container> Take it back out look in <container> See what's inside open <container> Open a closeable container close <container> Close it; a closed container takes nothing
Containers also have quality, and higher quality containers can store more weight. Some containers, like satchels, pouches, and packs, can be worn. Worn containers distribute the weight of the items within them more comfortably on the body, providing a discount to carrying their contents. This discount scales with container quality as well, and can be quite substantial at high qualities.
Containers also prevent items from decaying, making them useful for long term storage. It is easier to consistently repair a crate in a warehouse that contains several items than it is to repair those several items had you left them scattered around to wear down. When a container decays away or is broken by force, all of its contents scatter on the ground.
Some containers can be closed, and some both closed and locked for security. Shelves and tills are a special kind of container that are linked to a shopkeep NPC, and store their stock and their profits respectively.
