Gender

Also known as: pronouns

There are three options for gender in Rhizome.
1. Male -- your character appears physically male.
2. Female -- your character appears physically female.
3. Androgynous -- your character does not conform to typically male or female physical traits.

Choosing a gender is an outwards facing convention in Rhizome. What that means is, if you are playing a character who outwardly appears male, but inwardly recognizes themselves as female (or vice-versa), you should pick male, and demonstrate that nuance via your roleplay. In short, you're picking what you think the majority of outside observers would naively assume, with androgynous as an option if you believe your character's physical characteristics would not make that distinction obvious.

Choosing your gender in this way sets your character's pronouns in emotes and game messages, and has no other function on skills, attributes, or social status in Rhizome. While in-character race, wealth, and social strata do exist, they are not based on gender in-character in Rhizome.
