Retire

Sometimes, it's necessary for players to retire a character -- their story is effectively done, the player has come back from an extremely long hiatus and has no association to the character, or they're just boring. In that case, you may retire the character.

Retirement happens only from the main menu. There is a staging period of one hour -- you retire your character, it is staged for an hour, and then you confirm their retirement. This is to ensure there's no typos, fat fingering, or hasty decisions, as this decision is intended to be permanent.

When you retire, your character disappears -- no corpse, no announcement, simply gone. You will be able to make a new character as if they had died.
