Contribute

Contribution is a system for player and staff plots driven around resource collection in order to open up gated content, or drive other stories. Abstracted contribution boards can be placed at various sites in the game world from time to time, which will list the resources required to unlock their promised event or feature. For example, a contribution board for a road might drop in the wilderness, requiring stone of a certain quality, clay of a certain quality, and some amount of crafting tools like pickaxes to be donated. These can be donated with contribute <item> in the room with the board, and when they complete, will automatically seed the features the board provides. Poof, there's your road.

Contribution boards can have any number of objectives on them. Player run boards might not automatically accomplish anything, but are a way for organizations to engage with the community -- eg, donate x amount of high quality foodstuff for a party. Organizations wishing to run a more concrete contribution campaign that alters the world in some way can organize this with staff, who will facilitate within reason.

Contribution boards will track who has contributed the most to certain goals, and in some cases this will influence the outcome of plots.
